I love that commercial that says, “Mom’s don’t take sick days.” For those of you moms out there, you know this is so true. Our household would not be the same if I took a sick day. As helpful as my hubby is, it’s just not the same as when mom takes care of business. During those fall and winter seasons I have to take extra precautions to make sure I am staying as healthy as possible. This easy and delicious tea is one of my favorite tricks to keep sickness away. I usually have a few cups each week, unless there is sickness all around (being a teacher, there are always germs everywhere), then you may find me drinking it every night! My hubby even likes it!!
2 drops Lemon Essential Oil
3 drops On Guard Essential Oil
1 1/2 -2 tablespoons Raw Organic Honey
8oz. Hot water
Lemon Essential Oil
There are so many wonderful benefits to Lemon EO. This is one of my top 3 oils. We use this for a number of reasons, from cleaning to aiding in health.
When taking Lemon EO internally it provides digestive benefits and supports healthy respiratory function. It is also great for cleansing purposes. When taken on a regular basis, it will help with flushing out your system! Two drops go a long way, it is packed with flavor, so be sure to not add too much to your tea. In one 15ml bottle of Doterra EO (I use Doterra because they are a therapeutic grade EO) there are 250 drops of oil. And since Lemon is one of the more cost effective oils, you’re really getting a lot for a small price tag.
On Guard Essential Oil
On Guard is an essential oil blend. It includes, wild orange peel, clove bud, cinnamon bark, eucalyptus leaf, and rosemary. It is warm and spicy and reminds me of fall. Along with Breathe, these are the EOs I use most frequently. With four small kiddos, I diffuse this in all the rooms in my house on a regular basis, use in rollers and apply topically to everyone in our family, and of course use a few drops in my immune boosting tea.
This amazing oil provides a natural and effective boost for your immune system, supports the body’s natural antioxidant defenses, and promotes healthy circulation. When diffused it helps to purify the air and can be very uplifting.
AKA Liquid Gold!!! I could probably go on and on about all the wonderful qualities honey has to offer, but I’ll spare you the long list and just stick to some of the reasons we use nature’s miracle.
Honey is an all natural cure for treating coughs and colds. I’m not one to load my kids up on over the counter medications, so honey is a staple in our house for treating those common ailments (remember honey is not recommended for babies under 12 months). I use it to make a natural cough syrup, put loads in our tea, and it is an anti-inflammatory to to help alleviate allergies. Besides being delicious, it has numerous health benefits.
This Immune Boosting Tea is simple and yummy. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
*Cautions: Remember that with any EO to keep out of reach of children and they can cause skin sensitivity. If you are pregnant or nursing or under a doctor’s care, consult your physician before using EOs.
